Men of Change: Power. Triumph. Truth. is an immersive experience—exhibition as installation art. In heralding the achievements of notable African American men from across the decades, Men of Change highlights deep parallels between past and present. Whether physically walking through the exhibition or visiting online, you will encounter a world of men, women, and communities that affirm the power of the African American journey and, ultimately, the American experience. Each category—Storytellers, Myth-Breakers, Fathering, Community, Imagining, Catalysts, and Loving—presents a different view of men we might think we already know.
Men of Change was developed by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Services (SITES) and made possible through the generous support of the Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services. Ford Motor Company Fund continues its commitment to supporting the stories of all pockets of American culture. Past collaborations on SITES exhibitions include Freedom’s Sisters; American Sabor: Latinos in US Popular Music, and Our Journeys, Our Stories: Portraits of Latino Achievement.
